The Eastern one like gyros and sausages. The Oriental one likes dumplings and cone shaped hats (like Raiden from Mortal Kombat).

The Oriental Orthodox Churches rejected the Council of Chalcedon. It was rather unfortunate because they had the Nestorian label attached to them. But their Christology is Orthodox. The only reason foe their schism was in the wording of the Creed. They have since made amends with both the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Churches. Everyone agrees that they all agree, so to say, but they are not in communion with either Constantinople or Rome, but only over verbiage.

I love the Oriental Orthodox Churches. They have been on the frontier of Christianity for two thousand years.

The two natures of Christ between the Eastern (Antiochian) and Oriental Orthodox are largely semantic. In fact really the two groups are in agreement. If one were to ask an Oriental Orthodox if they believed Christ was fully human and fully God, they’d say yes.

What, in fact, are the differences, and what would stand in the way of the Eastern and Oriental churches from becoming united and enjoying full communion? Do you see them becoming united any time in the near future?

This is not far from the truth. There are attempts to reunite the oriental and eastern churches. Let us hope we see the result soon. The main thing standing in the way of reunification is that some eastern orthodox churches are not yet absolutely sure of the correctness of the faith of oriental orthodox churches. It is an obstacle that will need some dialogue and patience. The Coptic and Greek Churches are almost in full communion.

The Oriental Orthodox communion comprises six groups: Syriac Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox, Ethiopian Orthodox, Eritrean Orthodox, Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church (India) and Armenian Apostolic churches.[2] These six churches, while being in communion with each other are completely independent hierarchically.[3]

    Eastern Orthodox.

It is considered by its adherents to be the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church established by Jesus Christ and his Apostles almost 2,000 years ago. The Church is composed of several self-governing ecclesial bodies, each geographically and nationally distinct but theologically unified. Each self-governing (or autocephalous) body, often but not always encompassing a nation, is shepherded by a synod of bishops whose duty, among other things, is to preserve and teach the Apostolic and patristic traditions and related Church practices. All Orthodox bishops trace their lineage back to the Apostles through the process of Apostolic Succession and Belief that Christ is the

Oriental Orthodoxy and Eatern Orthodosy don’t agree about THE NATURES OF CHRIST

The term Oriental Orthodox refers to the churches of Eastern Christian traditions that keep the faith of only the first three Ecumenical Councils of the Orthodox Church—the councils of Nicea I, Constantinople I and Ephesus. The Oriental Orthodox churches rejected the dogmatic definitions of the Council of Chalcedon (A.D. 451).

Twenty years after Ephesus, the Council of Chalcedon declared that Jesus is in two complete natures, one human and one divine
    MIAPHYSITISM
Miaphysitism (sometimes called henophysitism) is the Christology of the Oriental Orthodox Churches and part of the Christology of the various churches adhering to the "Seven Ecumenical Councils" (as found in the Second Council of Constantinople). Miaphysitism holds that in the one person of Jesus Christ, Divinity and Humanity are united in one "nature" ("physis"), the two being united without separation, without confusion, and without alteration.

    Eastern Orthdoox Beliefs

The Oriental Orthodox Church and the rest of the Church split over differences in Christological terminology. The First Council of Nicaea (325) declared that Jesus Christ is God, "consubstantial" with the Father; and the First Council of Ephesus (431) that Jesus, though divine as well as human, is only one being.
