Is the orthodox christian church ever going to convert back to the catholic church?
After being in schism from the Catholic Church, is the schismatic Orthodox Church ever going to convert back to the Catholic Church? They have been separated from the Body of Christ for almost 1,000 years. Are they ever going to convert back to the faith of Christ again?
No idea. Something like that is incredibly hard to predict! We can always pray, though, for Christian unity

Actually, the Eastern Churches have been following a different path from the Western Churches for well over 1500 years. The excommunication of the patriarch by the pope (silly move, that, by the way) just formalised a cultural split that dated back to the division of the Roman Empire in the 4th century. The adoption of Augustinian theology by the Catholic Church, and the flourishing of the Greek fathers in the East, means that the culture, language, and rites of the two chuches was far apart long before the split of 1056.
And the Orthodox Churches have no desire at all to go back to what you assert to be the "faith of Christ." They believe they are the true Church, and they regard Catholics and Protestants as virtually indistinguishable. Frankly, if I were a Catholic I’d stick to trying to play nice with the Anglicans, Lutherans, and Old Catholics. The Orthodox are not at home to the Pope.

If they have not gone back after 1000 years, I can’t imagine they are ever going back.
