Is it safe to cross the border into Tijuana after the killing of American consulate couple?
I go to TJ for medical visits, but the state department has advised Americans to stay out of Mexico. I cross the border in San Diego into TJ. Are Americans still crossing the border, and is it safe at this time?
ok there if u go to tijuana for medical visits nothiing should happen to you if u just go to doctor in tj and back home becuase tijuana is a good city it has pro and cons like other cities in the world but about the us consulate couple it not happen tijuana it happen some where else

i’m willing to bet that thousands of americans cross everyday. the consulate murders were targeted attacks. so i think the average person doesn’t have much to worry about.

My thought is that the risk isn’t worth it. "Average" people aren’t being targeted? That’s incorrect. Average people have been INCORRECTLY targeted because of assumptions or beliefs that they had money or came from money. I would find an alternative if I were you.
P.S. The locals in Tijuana are apparently well aware of the tourist risk down there, I guess if you look like you’re from out of town you’re automatically a target as someone who has money.

Safe is a relative terminology. I would not consider the reason you go there safe but you are OK with it. The incident you are speaking of was across the border of El Paso TX, and drug cartel related. Your choice on crossing for medical issues/treatment, you know where you are going, presumably not going to get drunk and stupid in Mexico. So, I guess if I was you I’d go.

more then likely since the travel warning about mexico was issues I think not. I would not cross right now but for medical visits try doctors in the us
