How do they get animals to cross at crossing signs?
I know this is kind of weird, but when you think about it how do the deer to cross at the yellow "deer crossing" signs?
deer take the same paths all the time unless they are scared off. the
deer are already crossing there. you can see where they cross because
they have been doing it so long you can see little trails. so the signs are
put at known areas of deer crossings to let you know that you are in
an area that animals might be crossing the road. they put the signs
where they know deer are already crossing.they aren't just putting up
signs and hoping a deer will see a sign and know their supposed to cross there.

deers cross all the time the real reason that those yellow deer crossing signs are there are for the drivers to slow down so they will not hit the deers when they are crossing day or night

Deers have no idea what the signs mean. They are there to warn the drivers that there are deer paths that cut across the road in that area. This allows the drivers to slow down and be on the lookout for deer. Unfortunately, many drivers also do not know what the signs mean and are at about the same level of intelligence as the deer. Since those drivers have a lethal weapon, called a car, the deer tend to lose out.

typically they put it up where the most animal crossings take place, you'll notice its on turns where you cant see, or its near the wooded areas. maybe they did a survey and asked all the deers where they would like to cross, hm?

It's actually pretty high tech. Behind the sign there's this little box and up the road 100 ft on either side there are motion sensors. When a vehicle drives by it sets off the motion sensor and the little black box starts wafting the smell of food out. Then whatever animal eats that food, comes out to say hi. Isn't that crazy? If only scientists would put that much ingenuity into something like healthcare or the environment….
