What is going to happen to our Christian values in this country now that Barack is president?
I can not sleep I am so worried about this country! I believe that John McCain and especially the VP Sarah Palin would have been fundamental in restoring the Christian values that this country stands for.
How on earth are we going to get through this? All these economic crisis’s and troubles could only have been solved by God! No one else.
What is now going to become of us? Why did America turn away from God?
All I can say is God provides us with resources and we twist them to conspire against Him. I feel your pain that's why I'm wide awake. I think Obama being president is cause for grave concern. On one hand I'm thinking that God knows what He's doing, He will do what's best for this country but on the other hand, thinking back to previous encounters, God has put powerful dictators in charge to teach a country a lesson.

You do realise that the economey gose into recession every 5 to 8 years, we were due for a recession ( the last one being around 2001)

McCain would have finished what Bush started, and the whole USA would be flushed down the toilet. The economy is so bad now that nobody can afford to donate to the churches especially the Catholic churches wich are the greediest of all.

First off this is not just a country for christians. Many other people live here. Secondly, you seem to think that McCain and Palin were somehow God’s personal messengers…why? Bush seems to believe that God talked to him directly and look where that has gotten us

I have made a promise to God that I will pray for our country every day. I too am sick at heart and grieving- however I also realized that some Christians decided to vote for Obama as well. We are not standing up for the truth of God’s word, or this country would have another president. It begins with His Children- 2 Chronicles 7:14 has been on my heart all day- “IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, SHALL HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY, AND SEEK MY FACE AND TURN FROM HIS WICKED WAYS, THEN I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN, FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND HEAL THEIR LAND.

Let’s assume for a moment I believe in God. How does a presidential candidate go for/against a God? I mean, really. And work, and smart spending (or the lack thereof) will fix the economy, not divine intervention.

America, though founded on Christian ideals, always stood for SEPARATION of Church and State. The government’s job is to protect the country as a whole and especially to regulate the economy. It has no right to impose any morals on its residents.
God is not an economist. He cannot get us out of economic difficulties. Nor do I think He’d want to; wasn’t He the one who said “Money is the root of all evil”?
America turned away from God when it realized that there are many different Gods to believe in. If we want to be fair to everyone, we let the people choose which to follow, rather than forcing them. We pride ourselves on being a republic with democratic ideals; we do not try to become a dictatorship nor a theocracy. If you want that, move somewhere else.
We will get through this. Believe me. If you look back at the economic history of ANY nation, you’ll see that it occurs in cycles. We may be able to pull out of recession, or we may dive into a depression. Either way, we will eventually come back up to normal.

From an outsider looking in, the moment Bush asked the American public to help bail out the fat cats, the world economy takes a dive.
Bush sends troops to war because God told him to, they die, innocents die, gas prices sky rocket.
This is the same guy who McCain emulated.

This country has NEVER stood for ‘christian values’. The Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11 (a document ratified by Congress, and signed into law by the president) explicitly states the the US is a secular nation. Period.
Palin has proven herself unfit to lead, by incompetence, with her views on Creationism.
“We” are going to get through this, by giving the President elect the opportunity to prove whether or not he is fit to be a world leader.
America was founded, and has prospered without a god since it’s inception. Your refusal to accept fact over fiction is unfortunate.
