What should the Catholic Church do to priests who interfere with young boys and teenagers?
What should happen to a priest if he gets caught abusing young boys?
And has the Catholic Church done the right thing so far?
Or have they not done enough? Please explain yourself.
What should happen if anyone abuses children . . .
They should be reported, arrested, tried by group of their peers and sentenced.
Did the Roman church do any of these things, no she didn’t.
I am at a loss at how a church can blatantly proclaim she is the only church with God’s sanction and authority, yet have such wicked atrocities happening repeatedly in her church.
The latest scandal isn’t the first, nor is it the only.
The fact that the Roman church’s priest have been abusing children for decades is a tragedy.
Be Blessed:-)

Hanging’s too good for them. Burning’s too good for them. They should be torn into little bitsy pieces and buried alive.

i think that the catholic church is more concerned with keeping up a good reputation then helping the victims. these men are suposable the head of therir faith and they are really setting a good example for other catholics arn’t they. all priests that do that should be put to trial and jailed and fired oof their job.
what about the poor parents who would leave their children in their hands to teach them the faith but little do they know they r worse off. and many parents would not feel save leaving their children with priests now. im not saying their all like that but it is reality and they should be punished like any other member of society, locked up in jail for their crimes.

Priests who do this should be put on trial and stripped of their honorary positions in the church. It’s unacceptable for the Catholic Church to sit back and not do anything besides say how sorry they are when it’s just for good publicity. The Catholic Church has done an awful job so far considering these men are still a part of the Church and innocent children are being abused and taken advantage of. I thought abusing a child was one of the worst sins someone could commit according to Christians? Apparently not if they aren’t doing anything about it.
I don’t know how people can forgive a Church who has condoned such awful behavior. All they want is to be perceived as good in the eye of the public yet they aren’t truly sorry. How can anyone believe ANYTHING that comes out of their mouths when they’ve been hiding and lying to these people about it all along? As they say… "you cannot shake hands with a clenched fist".

What happens right now.
Immediately report the priest to the police and remove him from all ministry.
What else has the Catholic Church done to respond to sexual abuse? http://www.usccb.org/catholic-church-sxl-ab.pdf

My opinion is this: The Church authorities so far have not dared to face this question. There is no use of artificially making most of the normal members of the clergy subject themselves to celibacy. They are human beings like any one of us having all natural instincts. Either misinformed or over enthusiastic they at the spur of the moment[the Divine Call] join the clergy. Later the call of instinct overcomes the Divine call.
The Church should help those priests who want to have family life along with the religious mission. The authorities should show broad mindedness to adjust to the changing times. This celibacy is not born with this religion. I have read some where that even some Popes had their own families.
