How do i become apart of the catholic religion?
I currently dont belong to a religion, but ive been to a few catholic masses and i am postitive i want to be catholic.
If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask for information about their RCIA Inquiry group.
You can go and ask any questions you want.
This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.
There is no obligation to become a Catholic.

Ask the parish priest about RICA which is a religious education program for adults, leading to Baptism and entry into the Church.

Talk to the Local priest. RCIA is almost over so you might have to wait until next year to get confirmation. Call him up and go talk to him

Carefully make that decision. It shouldn t be after only visiting a certain religions worship a couple of times. You should read the Bible regularly and make it a matter of heartfelt prayer.

Like one of the answers above, you need to go to the priest of the parish you want to join and ask to join the RCIA (Rite for the Christian Initiation of Adults). This will teach you everyting you need to know about the Catholic Churches teachings. Congradulations and welcome home!!!

You can speak with a priest at any Catholic church. He will be happy to help. Also, I recommend praying the rosary regularly. The Virgin Mary is Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and can obtain for you strength and guidance as you go about the conversion process. See the following promises.
The rosary is explained here:
http://www.medjugorje.org/rosary.htm
The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who recite the rosary:
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise.
9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death.
14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.
God bless!
Dave

At any time you can go into the Church and talk to a Priest and tell him what you are considering
Most of us were born into it, but you, to make such a decision, are truly special!
You bring Hope into this world
At the Church there is what is called a Rectory (office) where you will get all the information you need to begin your journey.
There is no brain-washing. It will not be forced on you
You will learn about the Sacraments and the ways of the Church and it’s teachings
The door is open to all – You well be welcomed
You are truly very special in the Eyes of God
You are Blessed. You will never be alone, for we are all God’s children.
May your journey be Joyful and Fore-filling!
You brought Joy to my Heart, even if you change your mind.
God Bless You!

As Felix said, talk to your local church about going to RCIA.
This is the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. You don’t have to join the church to take the first part, it’s just information about the church. Some people take part of it just to learn about the faith of a loved one.
Additionally, http://www.catholic.com is a great site for answers on all sorts of things. It’s the site of Catholic answers. It’s an apologetic group that teaches about and defends the faith. They have many articles, radio shows you can download and listen to and other things.
Get a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic church. While the bible is the word of God, the catechism explains what Catholics believe. If anyone ever wants to know what we believe, they just have to read that. While some people attack our church and say things about the Catechism is ‘adding to the bible,’ they don’t know what they are talking about. No other church so clearly states what they believe. It is also full of the biblical references for everything. There are even other books you can buy that better explain the catechism and where it comes from, etc…
Learn as much as you can before you join our (or any) faith. I joined in college. I have never found a single thing that has made me doubt it is the right one.

Just to inject a little levity into this question… I definitely think that it is better to be "apart" from the "catholic religion" than to be "a part" of the "catholic religion".
Seriously, the most important thing is for you to become a Christian. This is done by repenting of your sins and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior. This is a transaction that takes place between you and God.
Once you’ve done this it is a good idea to read the New Testament and to find a Bible believing church where you can learn what the Bible teaches and have fellowship with other believers.
I understand how Roman Catholicism can be appealing because of its ornate rituals and stained glass windows but don’t make the mistake of thinking that this makes it a scriptural church.
But, if it’s only "religion" that you’re interested in, and having a relationship with Christ is unimportant to you then you will probably be very happy with the Roman Catholic religion, and they will be very happy with you.
This is my opinion based on the experiences of visiting many Roman Catholic churches. It may not be true of every Roman Catholic church. There may be some that are more interested in you becoming a true believer than they are of you becoming a Catholic.

Visit some Catholic churches and meet with the priests and ask questions. Ask about RCIA classes. Masses follow a pattern that can be found in the missal. It won’t take long to get comfortable with how a mass is set up.
