While intending to click on the Internet Explore icon in the taskbar, I accidentally dragged it into the desktop area. Now I can’t drag it back.
Unlock the taskbar.
Right click the icon and drag it to the taskbar.
Slightly move to the left and right until you see a "black line"
Then release and select "Copy" or "Move here"

I tried to drag the Windows Defender icon from the Start>All Programs menus to the task bar, but it’s not working. I have Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. Would you have a solution? Thanks.
The Start menu icons are shortcuts to the programs.
Icons appearing in the task tray are not shortcuts, but program icons and have to be enabled from the program.
So open up Windows Defender (from the Start menu).
Go to the Tools at the top, then in the Settings, click on Options.
Scroll down to "Choose when the Windows Defender icon appears in the notification area".
Select "Always".
Then click on Save.

When I downloaded a program called StypeXP, the recycle bin icon is on top of all my other icons on my desktop. The icons still work fine but it is harder to tell the difference between all of my icons. I have windows vista.
Follow the steps which are given below:
1. Click on the Start Menu and go to Run (or just press Win+R, save one second!).
2. Type in regedit and hit Enter.
3. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace (you can press first letter of branch name for faster navigation)
4. Do you see {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} branch? Create backup at first, right-click NameSpace and select Export.
5. Delete the {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} branch or just rename it to OLD-{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} (I think that rename is a good idea – in this case you can easy restore it)
6. Right-click your desktop and select Refresh. There is no the Recycle Bin icon more!:)

The message (e-mail) icon is showing on my Blackberry screen even though there are no messages, how do I get rid of it. I have tried switching the thing off but the icon still appears, there is no ‘delete all’ command. I am now thinking of throwing at the wall and then jumping up and down on it. This is possibly a little radical I admit, does anyone know of a better solution.
Anytime you have a minor issue like this take the battery out to hard reset it. This will likely fix that issue along with others in the future. Here’s an additional Blackberry website link that is really helpful if you’re interested in learning more:

I made a shortcut on my desktop and now I don’t want it there anymore. I tried to just click and drag it to the recycle bin, but then a prompt came up asking me if I wanted to delete the folder. I don’t want to delete the folder, just get rid of the icon on my desktop. So how do I do that?
for the two points as it has already been said by Jason B
if the folder is just a shortcut you can delete the shortcut off of the desktop without losing the folder. the folder is in another location and that icon on your desktop is only a quick link to that location. by deleting it you will only be deleting that link and not the folder itself.

A friend of mine made some changes in my WI-FI connection, before that, when I am connected to the Internet I always had 2 icons, and both looked like 2 monitors. Now suddenly I can see only one icon, and even this icon includes only 1 monitor and not anymore 2.
What can I do to make it as it was?
The two monitors icon is part of the WIndows network configuration. You probably have a different utility configuring your wireless.
The icon for it depends on your brand of card. Opening the menu from that icon will give you the ability to have WIndows manage your wireless connection again.
