The Internet Explorer" blue icon" that was next to the Start button has disappeared in Windows Xp. In fact 2 icons disappeared, my "show desk top" icon and the blue e, both were next to the Start button in the left hand corner of monitor.
Does anyone know the step or procedure to put them back to the Start button?

MY COMPUTER – DOCUMENTS & SETTINGS – ALL USERS
COPY THE PROGRAM FOLDER "START MENU" TO YOUR PERSONAL FOLDER.. IN MY CASE, IT’S BUNNYGIRL
THEN, OPEN THE FOLDER, SELECT ALL, RIGHT CLICK AND GO TO PROPERTIES, UNCLICK HIDDEN AND APPLY.

Instead of having a folder icon in my music section of my hard drive, can i replace it with the album art image? I’ve seen it done before i think so wondered how to do it without somehow making it an icon file.

In Windows, right click on the folder and choose Properties. Click on the Customize tab. Choose Music as the "folder type as a template" selection. You may have to view the folder you’re in as thumbnails instead of icons/list/detail (View…Thumbnails). Also, you can select a picture to use by clicking "Choose Picture" if you have a specific image you’d like to use.

I’m using a public computer and there is a little grey face icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. I find it suspicious that when I put the mouse over it no description comes up. Is it some kind of spying software?

Hi there, hope someone can help.
Everytime i click on my internet explorer icon on my desktop, instead of opening it it just creates a shortcut!! Also if i right click on it there is no option to open. I can get it open if i go to start and click on it from there but not from icon.
I have removed the problem hotfix that i found from google, but still problem exists. Hope someone can help!

I right clicked over the icon and clicked on properties but I can’t figure out where you change the icon. It used to be the little hard drive icon and now it is a folder icon and i just wanted that to change back, im not sure why it changed all of a sudden in the first place.

Switch off your computer and remove the USB cable from the machine. Then restart the machine, ones the desktop comes on your screen just plug the USB drive back. It should work fine.

Ok so i let my niece borrow my laptop last night and this morning i turn it on and i can’t hear anything. Not only that but the icon that’s usually on the bottom right hand side (notification bar) is gone. I tried to get it back but when i go to the tab where you can select whether or not you want the volume to be on the notification bar i can’t click on it. The" volume" is dark gray while all the others are in blue i cant click it on it what do i do?
It appears that problem is with your audio.
Running media player may help. It will tell you if there is any problem with audio system.
Run other media softwares to check if they report any error.
Running dxdaig (type in run) will be helpful. Go to sound tab,read it, click ‘test directsound’ and follow instructions.
Check if your audio driver is working properly.

You know your icon for yahoo answers? Well I see people have ones of their cat, or a horse, etc. I can only change mine to a avatar how do I change it to a picture of like my dog or cat on my computer?
1. Go to your yahoo answers profile page
2. Click on "view my profile", which is on the right side of your information and stuff.
3. Put your mouse pointer over your picture. A thing will pop up that says "change photo." Click on that.
4. Click the thing that says "add photo."
5. Click "browse" and search your computer for the picture you want
6. Do step two (enter the text that’s in the box), then click "upload."
7. Crop your picture to how you want it and click "crop."
8. Click on the photo you just put in there and click "use selected photo."
9. Go back to your yahoo answers profile page.
10. Click on "edit my info" (also on the right side of your information/under IM and email things).
11. Go to the picture section (the second one, under nickname) and select "use my profile image."
12. Scroll down to the bottom and click "preview."
13. Scroll down to the bottom and click "OK."
That should do it. Hopefully this made sense.

I have to choose my icon every time that I start MSN, how can I make my icon picture always there?
Are U talking about the display picture?
Well, just go to TOOLS, OPTIONS, SIGN IN, MARK THE 5TH BOX – Use the same display picture and personal msg whenever I sign in.
Apply and ok,!
