There are serious questions raised for any history book, mostly because those who wrote the history put their own "spin" on the events, hiding some aspects and emphasizing others.

The Bible contains a limited amount of history regarding events surrounding a small portion of the human race, specifically, the "House of Israel" or Jews. The New Testament contains only one book that deals with history– Acts. The rest (of the New Testament), including the Gospels, are really doctrinal works with a very limited amount of history included.

As far as aligning events of the Bible with events in history, there is a disconnect that occurs about 3500 years ago (1500 BC). Before that time, the events are too obscure to match up against major world events for which we have very limited records.

Esther and Job are not considered historic in nature. No one has been able to line up either with real people or, in the case of Job, places (Uz, where Job lived, is not a known place on earth).

There will be those who challenge the New Testament and the very existence of a personality by the name of Jesus, who is called Christ. But larger history supports the existence in that by the end of the first century, Christianity (named after Jesus who was called Christ) was a major thorn in Rome’s collective side. That would not have happened if there wasn’t a real person who had a significant influence on the people of the time.

Keep in mind that the Bible record covers what amounts to an insignificant people against a much larger backdrop of world events. The ‘Holy Lands’ were a backwater location that weren’t on many people’s list of places to visit.

All are believed to be true to all believers, however like a scientist, the story of god born on dec 25 is not true. That story of the creator being made on that date has been told even before jesus was born, like the Egyptian god hubris who was born on that same date, and by a virgin. This story has been going on for centuries. Its has been scientifically proven that he was born around June or July, the Three Wise men who were looking for an alighnment in the shy to see when He was born which ocurred around June or July. Now for the birth by a virgin, the bible said there will be false gods Before and After me.The christians started believing in christmas when a pope named , i think Pio VI, wanted christmas to be that day because it was his birth day. So peole are celebrating a false gods birthday. In turn, any being you is false is the devil, so people are celebrating the devils birthday

Some pieces are accurate. The Maccabees books are fairly accurate, though they mostly describe battles, there is archeological and corresponding Roman works to corroborate them. Most of the rest is subject to debate. After all, the bible was not written by any single person. Each book had a separate author(s) and was compiled into a collective work hundreds of years after being written, and many of the New Testament books describe the same event happening but in different ways.

Genesis through Deuteronomy were written in the format of an ancient treaty. Much of the text is descriptive, but all that is narrative is historically accurate. Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles, Nehemiah, Ezra are also historical and have been verified to be such. The Gospels have been strongly verified. In fact, one of the greatest middle eastern archeologists of the 20th Century, WF Albright wrote, "there is nothing but prejudice against the documents of the Old and New Testaments."

Genesis is one. I will let you figure out the others. Genesis is probably the most important book to know about its historical accuracy.
