It would take weeks to answer your questions. However, I will say, that I accept the Golden Rule with more clarity and much of what is written in the Book of James. Example, I will paraphrase him: Faith without works is useless.He knew that talk was cheap. Action, made the difference. He deals with practical issues of faith not bound by culture or place. He was straight foreword. He encourages, challenges, and confronts. Now my question to all coreligionist: Why are you unable to live up to those simple admonitions? And yet, you want go on a tangent about the whole Bible. I am befuddled.

The things that are flat-out proven wrong, which includes pretty much all of Genesis, pretty much all of Exodus, and a fair amount of Leviticus and Numbers.

Then there’s the whole "stupid" god thing: Oops, I made humans and put them in a garden with a tree of knowledge, but I had *no idea* they would actually eat from it!
Oops, I made a mistake making humans, they’re nothing but trouble…so I think I’ll wipe them all out with a big flood and start all over again. Except I won’t start all over again, I’ll just have them re-breed from the same humans I already made!

Then there’s the genocides (numerous), slavery, etc.

Much of it is problematic. None of it is particularly useful.

A lot of it. It's hard to read something so corrupted. Humans are easily corrupted, easily led. Guess who wrote it. Even if the divine told them what to write, they don't have to write it exactly as they were told. Look at the morman books. That wrote what he was told to write (or so he says) and then edited it. EDITTED IT!! your going to edit god?!?! If you want to know gods words, look inside yourself. God is energy and we are made of more energy then you can imagine. read a book, watch a movie. You with find little bits of Truth is them. That is god. Turn on the radio. Ever feel like it was just for you? It was. Pay attention. Luckily for all of us, God isn't remotely human, so has no flaws. he's very patient. But can smack the crap out of you if thats what you need. a Godsmack hurts a lot.

I believe, for one thing, the many miracles recorded in the Bible were just myths and legends.

What I take issue with is that there are no proof these myths and legends actually occurred, but people want me to believe and accept them.

That’s really my issue… it’s mythology; Jesus couldn’t possibly have been the Jewish messiah, it was written by humans… and people not only think I should take it literally, and put me down and insult me occasionally for not doing so, but they also think the laws of this diverse nation should revolve around these scriptures.

I wouldn’t have any issues at all with the Bible if people just believed it for themselves and didn’t try to proselytize with it and impose it on the rest of the country.

The fact that people have been tricked into believing an invisible deity who created the entire universe inspired people to write a book of utterly absurd nonsense stories and barbaric moral instructions.

As I diligently study the entire Bible, the only issues I continually find is with myself, and my own sin nature. God gave the Israelites the OT (and eventually the world) as a precise foretelling of His delivering the promised Messiah; and the miracles that Jesus performed, including His resurrection from the dead, as ironclad proof that His Word is indeed True.

I hate that fact that everything in the Bible is true and has never been disproven. I have searched and searched trying to find a flaw but it has become clear to me that it truly is the Word of God.

p.s. I can’t stand the fact the all I have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and ask forgivness of my sins and He will give me eternal life… what a bummer deal that is

I do not have any issues with the Bible. The Bible is the written word of Jehovah God, and I do not question his authority. Nor do I try to find fault in his word, or with his word. I being his child with a sinful nature, just pray for his forgiveness blessing, and guidance in my life to be a better person. And to be of service to him in some way.
