The Bible mentions prostitution and even requires brothers who outlive a husband to have sex with sister in laws so their brother can have an heir. All sex with someone you don't love is lustful but you can be very attracted to someone you do love too and then it is called "knowing".
In the Bible many men had sex that was lustful and it was okay as long as they were married to them.
"Thou shalt not commit adultery" is a rule against a man having sex with a married woman who is married to someone else and it doesn't matter if he loves her, its still adultery. That is a sin punishable by death.
When ever it says "And (so and so) knew his wife," it means he had sex with a woman he loved. Whenever it says "And (so and so) went in unto her" it means he had lustful sex with a woman he did not love. Obviously this suggests that many of the children begotten of wives were begot without love as often it says "he went in unto her" and that includes maids or babysitters who they took as wives.
The most highly regarded relationship in the Bible between a man and a woman is to 'know' each other and to share true and deep real love. Yet it never puts down children who were 'begot' without real love as long as they were not bastards or born outside of marriage.
Of course a child can not help being a 'bastard' but bastards who do not have a father's love do not learn to be kind and loving sometimes and so the word has come to have a negative connotation.
It does say that a man should "Grow old with the wife of your youth" which suggests its best not to divorce but even without love marriage is holy matrimony and sanctioned for the bearing of children.
The bottom line is lust is acceptable if the person you lust for is not married to someone else and you are married to them. Any sex with a married person is punishable by death unless, of course, they are married to you.
References :
What I learned from reading the Bible, and this is all from the original Five Books of Moses. Genesis Exodus Leviticus Numbers and Deuteronomy

"Lust" as you describe it, is not an issue at all between a man and his wife. Lust is only about being tempted to be with someone other than your wife. Having a desire to be with your wife is a normal healthy thing you should thank God for as a blessing. The Bible says the two of you should be together everyday and enjoy one another fully and completely. Specifically it says, her body belongs to you and your body belongs to her.
References :
When you read the bible you have to understand it was written by uptight old men. That book is one of the reasons I want nothing to do with organized religion.

You cannot control the feelings in your heart and should not punished for them! Now when you act on those feelings and humiliate or cause shame to that person that is a whole different matter.
References :
You are correct, your sister is not. Unless the couple is literally married to each other, a man who "lusts" after his girlfriend (even with a look) is elucidating premarital promiscuity. If the man is married to his wife, he is entitled to look at her any way he wishes. If the married man looks at any another woman other than his wife lustfully, he is committing adultery.
References :
It is ok to make love but it is not right to fornicate.

Trust me, after marriage we don't find our wife as lustful as she used to be.
References :
The Bible says that if a man looks at a woman lustfully, he is committing adultery with her in his heart.

But a man cannot commit adultery with his own wife. So, if a man looks at his wife sexually or lustfully, no problem.

The Bible also says it's better to marry than to "be on lustful fire." That says to me that sexual attraction within marriage is perfectly fine.
