Ah yes, yet again another person abusing their child by brainwashing them and indoctrinating them at an early age into a cult. Way to go!! You should be sooooooo proud. Why not use something that isn't fictional to illustrate your point. How about the story of Terry Fox, or Rick Hansen, or Ghandi, or Beethoven being deaf and writing beautiful music instead of doing your child harm by indoctrinating him or her into a cult. You should really be ashamed of yourself.

The one I just used in Kid's Church is the story of David & Goliath. You know the story – David had grown so accustomed to relying on God to deliver him from his enemies, that he didn't hesitate to volunteer to kill Goliath, the Phillistine warrior, because he knew it would be God's battle. Nobody else, including King Saul, would face him in battle, and Saul tried unsuccessfully to change David's mind. Eventually, as you know, David succeeded, and the Israelite army pummeled the Phillistine army.

I would, however, do some research before telling about this incident. Too many times, in my opinion. this story is told in the manner of a fairy tale, not a true account. It is entirely possible that a rock thrown at someone from a sling could kill him instantly, considering the velocity projectiles are able to reach from modern day slings (yes, people still build and use them – they're called "nerds"). The miracle, in my opinion, was that David was not afraid to do this, especially considering that he was probably full aware that he would only have one chance to kill Goliath. If he missed, he'd be in serious trouble.

There you go: Little guy vs. BIG challenge. Little guy wins because he gave the battle to God.

The point is there are lots of stories suitable for children found in the Bible. Or you could invest in Veggie-Tales movies.

There is the story of David and Goliath. Simply stating that David defeated the Giant is sufficient and need not to refer to death.

Also Daniel in the lion's den is another. These D persons were amazing, yes?
