The bible is just another nonsense story supposedly giving identity to one group of people. Of course, the script was composed by slaves in exile in Babylon. They just made up a good yarn relying heavily on other religions about them. Even if it was transcribed perfectly each time it was translated or rewritten (it was necessary to have many copies just among the Hebrews) it is still a work of man and not the word of some god. Of course, this all happened in a time when uneducated people believed in all sorts of gods. Therefore, your concluding sentence is not correct. remember, though, that this religion only requires belief. It does not offer proof. the Lord’s Prayer, for instance opens up with; “I believe in god the father, god the son and god the holy ghost.”

Don’t waste your time trying to convert the converted. Just realise it is all rooted in big money business.

Yes, there are some differences, but they are negligible.

In 1947 the Dead Sea scrolls were found, containing the oldest Old testament manuscript ever found.

Guess what?

It was so close to our next oldest manuscript we had, that the differences were barely worth mentioning.

You don’t have to worry. We have what they had.

…Obviously you are unfamiliar with the tenacity of the Hebrew scribes under the scrutiny of the Priests… “if” they made just “one” error…just “one” dot or jittle out of place, “they” had to destroy the entire text and write it again… Over the millenniums the Jews were the most accomplished record keepers in recorded history… The Romans and Greeks were very good as well… but not like the Jews ! (contemporary “man” has skewed the writings).

I never considered it an entirely reliable source to begin with. It’s a guide – it needs to be carefully studied if it’s to remain relevant.
