How did the bible know that earth is a circle? Way before people realized it’s an oblique sphere?
How did the bible know that the earth is a circle, a flat 2 dimensional shape? Way before we finally found out that the earth is 3 dimensional sphere thats’ buldging?
If bible is not the word of God, I don’t know what is.
In Daniel, the king “saw a tree of great height at the centre of the earth…reaching with its top to the sky and visible to the earth’s farthest bounds.” If the earth were flat, a sufficiently tall tree would be visible to “the earth’s farthest bounds,” but this is impossible on a spherical earth. Likewise, in describing the temptation of Jesus by Satan, Matthew 4:8 says, “Once again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world [cosmos] in their glory.” Obviously, this would be possible only if the earth were flat. The same is true of Revelation 1:7: “Behold, he is coming with the clouds! Every eye shall see him…”

I think many ancient folk noticed that the moon and the sun were round…but I think their greatest clue was the phases of the moon…if you look at it closely, you can see the entire moon, even if it is only in its 1/4 phase.
The ancient people may have been simple, but they weren’t stupid…they did not have mass media and organized education.

Um, everyone who had any education in the ancient world knew the world was spherical. To the point where Eratosthenes could actually give fairly precise estimate of the circumference, long before Christ was born.

You may believe, as many others do, that the Bible is the Word of God. But many others take a different view.
It’s your choice.
But what has this to do with the shape of the earth? And if you find this significant, what do you say about the ancient Greek, Democritus, who said that everything is made of atoms. This was only fully accepted by the scientific community about 100 years ago. Does that make Democritus God?

If you stand at the top of a high hill or mountain and and make a full 360 degree turn, you will see the "circle of the earth". That’s how.
Some snakes have been known to have very tiny vestigial legs but they’ve been basically legless for a couple million years (although probably longer) so the people who wrote the bible would have seen this and put it in their book.
