What would an Orthodox Jew do if a Messianic Jew visited their Synagogue?

If the Messianic Jew introduced themself and said they were visiting the Orthodox Synagogue and were Messianic, what would likely happen.

We welcome people of all beliefs in our congregation and wonder if it would be reciprocal.

Assuming they aren’t there to proselytize, probably nothing. I was told at Chabad that there are always several Messianics that show up for Passover.

This is probably a lot more common than people realize. I have heard rumors for a few years that there were Messianics in a certain (reform) synagogue. At the present time I could name one who attends the Reform Temple on Friday nights and the Messianic congregation on Saturdays

How can i get my contacts icon back on the quick launch on the palm pre?

I accidentally took the contacts icon out of the quick launch of the palm pre and now i don’t know how to get it back. I know you can drag the icons around to change them and also from the launcher, but the contacts icon is not on the launcher.

Does anyone know how to do it?
I can only find it when i’m using the dial pad. It’s on the right corner of it, but it doesn’t let me drag it anywhere.

where is it then? simply no where on the phone?

Can I legally cross the Border to the United States from Canada?

I am planning to drive from Toronto to Detroit over the summer with a couple of my friends. I will 17, but when I was 15 I was charged with underage drinking. This is the only thing I have gotten in trouble with the law for. So will I be able to cross the border? Thanks
And, yes I have a valid passport.

So the underage drinking won;t hinder my chances of crossing the border?
I’m a Canadian citizen visiting the State for a week.

As long as you have a passport, yes.

What are the chances of getting a place at a catholic college?

Well, I’m not catholic, but there’s a college where I really want to attend.

I’ve already applied the application form last November, but the thing is that today I discovered that

catholic students have more chances of getting a place than non catholic.

The college is called Loreto which is in Manchester.

Anyone can help?

Thank you for your support?

well. it depends on how strict the college is…im an indian hindu and i go to an originally christian school in London. however it is multi ethnic, as there are staff and students from hundreds upon hundreds of different types of countries and areas. For example, there are people from uganda, kenya, australia, bulgaria, ireland and so on – however it isnt an international school.

i dont quite know about manchester, but in london, most schools are multi ethnic. casual racism occurs, but its all funny and in good order….most of the time ^^

also, it depends how good of a student you are – if you are as good as a catholic geeza, then he might go through – however if your better behaved and hard working, then you have a good chance of getting through – so dont worry mate, keep your hopes up n i hope you get in :D

What does an agnostic Christian such as meself got to say about the second coming of jesus?

All what i can say is that each time i do a kind deed to help another human being , animal or nature jesus comes to me in spirit. As an Agnostic christian thats how i understand the second coming of jesus.

Why do fundamentalist Christians say that i am wrong and only they are right?

This is what the angels said to the apostles when Jesus ascended into heaven:

"After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s walk from the city."

Acts 1:9-12

I believe the angels were right, and it shall be exactly as they said.

In fact, this very thing was prophesied about 500 years earlier by the Prophet Zechariah. If you care to, you can read it here:

Is the orthodox christian church ever going to convert back to the catholic church?

After being in schism from the Catholic Church, is the schismatic Orthodox Church ever going to convert back to the Catholic Church? They have been separated from the Body of Christ for almost 1,000 years. Are they ever going to convert back to the faith of Christ again?

No idea. Something like that is incredibly hard to predict! We can always pray, though, for Christian unity :)

What are my choices in catholic marriage counseling?

Hi… My mother in law to be wants us to go through with a catholic church wedding since she is catholic. I am not catholic but I am considering her options. What are my options in counseling and how long do they all last? I live in the state of Missouri and would like to know. Thank you.

First of all you need to be baptized, second you need to be confirmed, the Pre Cana classes in my state are one day for 8 hours and are mandatory for wanted to be married in the Catholic church, and they must be done at least 6 months before the wedding. Good luck!

How do you do a cross product in spherical coordinates?

I am doing E&M and need to do a cross product in spherical. I am pretty sure I can’t just use a straight determinant like in rectangular coordinates, but I can’t remember what changes in a spherical determinant. I can’t find the definition of it in my books or online. Appreciate the help.

It is a bit different, though the same basic concept. Let’s say you have two coordinates, (A, B, C) and (X, Y, Z). Your cross product will be

(BZ – CY, XC – ZA, AY – BX).

Give me a second to type how to remember it:

First, position the coordinates above each other visually, with the first one on top (yes, order does matter):

(A, B, C)
(X, Y, Z)

For the first term, cover up the first values:

( , B, C)
( , Y, Z)

and then multiply the B times Z, subtracting from that C times Y (BZ – CY).

For the second term, cover the middle values:

(A, , C)
(X, , Z)

And multiply and subtract again, but this time switch directions. Start with the first value in the second coordinate (XC – ZA)

For the third term, cover the last values:

(A, B, )
(X, Y, )

and then multiply and subtract, starting with the value in the first coordinate again (AY – BX).

The Orthodox don’t need to "convert back to the faith of Christ." They’re Christians.

As to whether the schism will ever be healed — I hope so, but it’s not happening anytime soon. I don’t think there’s much motivation among the Orthodox to make it happen. A decent number are still quite anti-Western, or believe that Catholics are heretics, and hence have no desire to reunite.

Current ecumenical talks between the Catholics and Orthodox are focusing on the big issue of what the primacy of the papacy meant back in the first millennium. I do hope they prove useful.
