How do you feel about the Bible being an accurate resource?

We know that the Bible is full of contradictions and also impossibilities (Noah’s ark, etc.). So what is your conviction about this>

(a) We need to study and consider everything that is written there in order to make a decision about the validity of same.

(b) I believe that everything that is written in the Bible is the absolute and unfailing word of God and that we should live our lives accordingly.

(c) I believe that living my life strictly according to what is printed in the Bible is bound to result in absolute and total frustration.

(c) is most valid of the choices available, since I have seen many examples of it close at hand. I have already done (a) when I was a boy and know the Bible is invalid. My oldest sister claims to go along with (b), but she ignores parts of it whenever it cramps her style.

What would be a good idea for a play on the Protestant Reformation?

For a project I have to do for school I need to make a 3-5 minute video on some event that happened during the Protestant Reformation. All I have as actors is my brother, mom, and myself. What should I do?

Perform au naturel

You’ll need a gimmick to hold peoples attention and that would be a good one.

What is the Eastern Orthodox view on Christs death in regards to theosis?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theosis

If I understand correctly the orthodox view goes further than the main line Evangelical which proclaims that Christ died for our sin. Again, if i understand correctly Orthodox theology proclaims that Christ died so that we may be one with the father and experience heaven, even on earth.

Am I way off? On target? is there more?

Yes, you’re onto something and there is much, much more. We Orthodox connect Christ’s incarnation, death, resurrection, and ascension. Christ became incarnate so that humanity was joined to divinity and so that he might conquer death. When He ascended, humanity entered heaven with Him. We’re also uncomfortable with abstract discussions of theosis. Theology is life in Christ, not an academic discipline.

What is the difference between Baptist and Catholic religion?

I am Baptist, but my daughter and I are looking at possible high schools for her. I am not sure if I should send her to a Catholic High School, because the way they teach things are different from those of a Baptist.

I do not know a lot about the Catholic religion. Would there be a big difference if she went to a Catholic High School. They have mass and what is reconciliation and all the confessions? I know that in Mass, Catholics take communion.

Thank you!

As a non-Catholic attending a Catholic school, your daughter would not have to attend or participate in mass, confession, or Catholic communion. She would have to learn about Catholicism in religion class, as all Catholic schools have those, but people of many different faiths consider it well worth it to send their children there because of the higher education standards that come with it. Catholic schools are generally quite respectful of differing beliefs.

My Catholic high school had quite a large number of non-Catholics attending, and a few non-Catholic teachers as well. They all loved it.

What denomination is between the Catholic Church and Baptist Church, in terms of faith and religious practices?

My girl-friend and I have decided to start attending church together. Neither of us attends church on regular bases. I was raised as a Baptist. She was raised as a Catholic. I would like to find a church that both of us would feel comfortable attending.

How about finding one that is preaching the Word of God with truth and with power.

How about attending one that you will grow spiritually, and will be challenged to live a holy life, and one filled with serving the Lord.

How about attending a church that will draw you closer to Jesus Christ and will convect you of your need for a Saviour if your not already truly saved.

Those are the things you should be looking for in a church. To many churches out there are trying to make people feel comfortable, but what we need is a church that challenges us, and pushes us to new spiritual growth.

And with that, you have limited the churches that you can go to. Obviously the Catholic Church is out (will most of them), The Cult Churches like Mormon and JW’s, and Christian Science, and Islam are out. Most of your Non-denominational Churches are out, and most of your Baptist Churches are out.

What your looking for is a solid fundamental, Independent, KJV only Church. Not many of them out there.

How did the christian world react when discovering america and the native tribes upon those lands?

Did they call them barbarians like the roman empire did towards the migratory tribes?

Did they promote a climate of hostility towards those indigenous peoples?

Did those indigenous peoples ever really stand a chance against the propoganda-driven christian empire?

Did you completely skip history classes for 12 years?
