What would be a good idea for a play on the Protestant Reformation?

For a project I have to do for school I need to make a 3-5 minute video on some event that happened during the Protestant Reformation. All I have as actors is my brother, mom, and myself. What should I do?

Go right over the top.
Have the actors discuss where they might have gone wrong while they are burning in h—.

Is there anywhere you can watch an Eastern Orthodox Mass online?

I know you can watch Catholic Masses online, but is there anywhere you can watch an Eastern Orthodox Mass online? The closest Orthodox church is an hour away, so I can go in person until I have more time on my hands.

What is an atheist harassing a Christian about religion and a Christian harassing an atheist about religion?

Are they both harassing or do you think the other is trying to help the other? Should the atheist leave the Christian alone and why? Should the Christian leave the atheist alone and why? Why would each consider it harassment?

Yes yes and yes.
People should rightfully respect each other – in a perfect world, but alas we don’t live in a perfect world.

Too many nasty people in the world unfortunately.

How can i use album art as the folder icon on my computer?

Instead of having a folder icon in my music section of my hard drive, can i replace it with the album art image? I’ve seen it done before i think so wondered how to do it without somehow making it an icon file.

Thanks!

In Windows, right click on the folder and choose Properties. Click on the Customize tab. Choose Music as the "folder type as a template" selection. You may have to view the folder you’re in as thumbnails instead of icons/list/detail (View…Thumbnails). Also, you can select a picture to use by clicking "Choose Picture" if you have a specific image you’d like to use.

Why did the Protestant Reformation take place?

Why did the Protestant Reformation take place? Discuss the late medieval history of the Church, and whether it contributed to the split. Discuss why the Reformation took place, and any technical, political, or societal changes that aided it.

The church had the Inquisition and then the witch hunts millions of people were burned at the stake mostly Innocent women. That’s the medi–evil history of the church. Why? The superstitious people had to cling to something and some of the horrors were ending as secular man brought some civilization to a barbaric church. That was the societal change and the fairness of democracy the political. Some of the reformers had barbaric leanings.Look at what man has brought to religion today. Far flung from the dark beliefs of the middle age;now God ants you to live well,to have good sex. Some tell you to send your seed money to them and reap a harvest of wealth from their Power. This is the new reformation.

How do non-orthodox jews justify not doing the same things that orthodox jews do?

I was speaking to some people who visited Israel, and they mentioned the orthodox jews are even more tied up in laws and rituals than the ‘regular’ jews. How do the non-orthodox jews justify not doing the same things as the orthodox jews if they are both meant to be obeying the Law?

To follow on from that, do the orthodox jews believe that the non-orthodox jews are going to hell because they don’t follow the same rules?

Some people are equating less religious to more religious Jews with different sects of Chrisianity. That’s not accurate. It’s different levels on the spectrum of observance but theology is pretty consistent. Christianity, the differences in theology-dogma ARE the point. Not so in Judaism & we remain one religion (this is important to understanding a lot of how Judaism works.)

The difference is Orthodox follow commandments as interpreted in Talmud, very literally. Conservative follow them but with belief that Talmud standards can be reinterpreted to some extent within a modern context. Reform follows that Torah is to be followed, & the Talmud has great wisdom, but isn’t literal in the following of it. Reconstructionist came from Conservative but tries to update more to add more spirituality. (I’m not giving the most crisp explanation here, & others may clarify better. Also each group’s main website states their theology (though I’ve found not always so very accurately either.))

Part of this is that Reform believes the Torah to be inspired by God, but not letter to letter given, while Orthodox believes it to be letter to letter given. HOWEVER, & a big however, these are not required beliefs of either group. You can follow & practice with either one without agreeing with what the over all view is. So in Judiasm, as with everything, the difference is in whether you follow the commandments literally or not… not the theology itself.

There is no hell in Judaism. The idea of "obeying the Law" is a Christian wording & concept. In Judiasm the commandments are given as a guide to how to live life. They are a joy & opportunity, something to connect you better to God & to your better self. Christianity introduces the idea of them as something restrictive & to be "obeyed" like a horror. More religious Jews do believe that very possibly in afterlife you will have a better time connecting to God if you as a Jew have been following the commandments. However, there is no strict afterlife belief (lots of varied ideas) & it’s this world, not what happens next, that’s the focus in Judaism. Less religious Jews believe less, so there is not concern about this aspect either. (There’s the answer to the question.) However, again for Orthodox Jews it is not a question of afterlife & reward… it is a reward to them in this life to follow these…a chance to be connected to holiness through more conscious actions.

Melkah
is merely citing an Orthodox put down of Reform & not enlightening to the question at all. It’s an internal issue that shouldn’t be aired publically anyway & most Orthodox citing it don’t know Reform very well at all.

What medical procedures are banned by Catholic Hospitals?

A friend of mine recently told me that she couldn’t get her tubes tied at the hosptial near her because it is a Catholic hospital and they don’t allow it. Beside abortion obviously, what other medical procedures are not allowed at Catholic Hospitals?

Abortion (except in the cases of tubal pregnancy, in which the child cannot possibly survive and the removal of the tube is necessary to save the life of the mother).

Sterilization for the purpose of preventing procreation (i.e., you can have a hysterectomy if you have cancer and the procedure will save your life, but you can’t have one simply to prevent pregnancy).

IVF, GIFT, ZIFT, IUI, surrogacy and other forms of "fertility treatment" that lead to the conception of a child with third-party interference and without sexual intercourse between the husband and wife. Fertility treatments such as dilating clogged tubes, assisting sperm motility, etc. that enable a couple to conceive a child through intercourse are fine, however.

Euthanasia (such as denying a handicapped person food and water or giving a person doses of morphine that they don’t need in order to hasten death…which actually happens with shocking regularity).

Gender reassignment surgery and other forms of self-mutilation.

Dear Christian Monotheists could you please tell me what are the purposes of overseas mission, Culture exchange or to obtained knowledge from overseas churches (some information Please)? Who is/are funding the costs of overseas mission? Thanks.

a lot of the missions i am aware of go to countries to help educate children, build schools, provide medical care, show them how to sterilize water for drinking, show them how to grow crops in drought conditions, and yes, teach them about Christianity.

they are funded by churches and other organizations which rely on private contributions.

What does the grey face icon at the bottom of the toolbar mean?

I’m using a public computer and there is a little grey face icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. I find it suspicious that when I put the mouse over it no description comes up. Is it some kind of spying software?

i don’t know what it looks like so i can’t help you, sorry.
