please find me a picture of a 16th century protestant church! can’t find one anywhere………… thanks
i’ve tried to find it everywhere!
Saint-Guillaume in France, painting dating from that time.

The problem with 16th century is that it is barely the beginning of the protestant movement, they didn’t build churches immediately. You’ll have more chance looking for 17th century churches.

My limited understanding, just from web searching is that Bible counseling does not apply a psychology and relies only on the Bible and Christian counseling mixes Bible and Psychology. Any counselors or people that have personal experience with either method I would like to hear from you.
Thanks John Runer
Christian psychology is a skilled field and you are dealing with sound credentials .
Peace

I have to write an essay that explains the depth of the Roman Catholic Church’s influence into the various aspects of political, social, and intellectual life of the Middle Ages. My teacher brought this up out of no where, so I need a little help.
A few things where the Catholic Church has made the world a better and brighter place are:
+ Relief from the Barbarian invasions of the early middle ages
+ Rescued Christian and pre-christian literature
+ Spread agricultural and animal husbandry knowledge
+ Started and protected universities
+ Sponsored and supported science and medicine
+ Created International Law theory
+ Developed and sponsored modern economic theory
+ Invented charity as we know it
+ Codified, expanded, and improved Western Law
+ Developed Western Morality
+ Created just war theory
+ Sponsored and influenced art and architecture
+ Developed the concept of inalienable rights
I suggest you read the book "How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization" by Thomas E. Woods, Jr. http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/history/world/wh0101.html
With love in Christ.

The system they have now is that all the different Christian cults like Catholics, Anglicans, Baptists, Pentecostals etc, all do charity work separately because, due to their arrogance in assuming only their version of Christianity is correct, they can’t work together. If they were able to put aside their differences and work together, could they do more charity work?
yes.. that would be so much better than separately, unfortunately, so many of the churches are ‘liberal’ today and get into things others don’t agree with (like abortion). and not to mention if it were all in one organization, who would run it? some are pro israel, others are not. some are openly racist (black only or white only or yellow only or….) while others accommodate all they can. IMHO the WOC is far too liberal for me to be party to.

I do a bible study at school and i need some ideas as to what verse to do it on. Im looking for inspiring verses such as Phillipians 1:21. I would greratly appriciate your help!
Here is a website that teaches the meaning of every verse of every Book in the Bible:
http://www.soniclight.com/constable/notes.htm
How about doing John 11, and the security of salvation in Jesus? Focus is particularly on John 11:25-27.
The website can help explain anything you might want more explanation for

I aksed the local Bishop, and he refused, but surely this is illegal under the Laws of England? Can I sue them in the Court of Human Rights for this outrage? Why should the Catholic church be allowed to discriminate against gay men and women?
Yes you can …. ^_^

My husband, a muslim, and I, a Christian, have been married legally, by a christian ceremony and submitting it to the state, for a year. Celebrating our anniversary, i’ve happily agreed to marry him in a mosque. I have never been to a Nikah so I am clueless as to what to expect. Can anyone fill me in on what to expect in this type of Nikah, is there a certain color I am suppose to wear inside the mosque, and any websites that may be helpful?
First of all, nikah is actually the first thing you need to do if you are marrying a Muslim. But as both of you have finally decided to do it, then ask forgiveness whole heartedly from Allah and proceed with your nikah as soon as possible, as up to this point both of you are not considered to be husband and wife. The best thing for both of you is to refrain from doing anything than husband and wife is allowed until you finish your marriage ceremony (according to Islam that is). May Allah guide both of you and show you the true way.
Probably when your Muslim ‘husband’ decided to marry you, he consider it right to marry a Christian woman based on the following Quranic verse;
Surah Al-Maidah (Chapter 5) verse 5;
(Meaning)
5. Made lawful to you this day are At-Tayyibat. The food of the People of the Scripture is lawful to you, and your food is lawful to them. (Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture before your time when you have given them their due, desiring chastity, not illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girlfriends (or lovers). And whosoever rejects faith, then fruitless is his work; and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.
Lawful to Muslim to marry women from those who were given the Scripture (Christians and Jews), that is those woman who believed in God and do not practise polytheism or idol worshipping, although they are not Muslim yet in practise. And they refrain themselves from wrong doings (illegal sexual intercourse etc.) as told to them in their scriptures.
But there are women from the People of the Book who do not practise their religion anymore, practise Shirk (polytheism) and indulge themselves in wrong doings. The best is to avoid to marry this kind of woman, same as it is better to avoid marrying ‘Muslim woman’ who do not follow the teaching of Islam.
Based on this verse also, your ‘would be husband’ should give you your due, that is mahr (mandatory wedding gift as agreed by both parties).
As for the nikah, it is a simple wedding vow that your husband agrees to marry you, and you agree to it beforehand. It should be conducted by your wali (your father or if not available your brother and so on – if they are Muslim of course) and witnessed by some truthful person. If you do not have any Muslim wali, then a Muslim judge or imam will normally conducted the aqad nikah.
If you encounter other customs or rules during your nikah perhaps it is merely a tradition or rules set by an authority that is normally practice at the place you are residing. As long as they do not contradict Islamic practices then they are lawful.
If you are concern about what to wear during the ceremony, normally Muslim woman, based from the teaching of the Quran will cover their ‘aurat’, that is body part to be covered. It is their whole body except for their face and palm. As for the colour or fashion there are no restriction as long as it is modest and beautiful for your husband to see. This is the best for you. But if you are not comfortable to cover your hair now (as some women are), then wear anything modest and proceed with your nikah.
