I know what books are in the Orthodox canon, but I would like to know if the Thomas Nelson Orthodox Study Bible has the entire canon in it (like the Book of Odes). This question would probably be answered best by those who have at least seen the table of contents from the book.
Everything here in the Eastern Orthodox Anagignoskomena except for the book of Odes

I have asked someone online who bought it, and she informed me that the book of Odes was not included. Note, however, that the first 14 of the 15 Odes are found in Scripture

I didn’t ask this person if 2 Esdras was included, but I believe that it is.

Sure, studies have shown that the human race has changed over time. For example, it is thought that the average human now is much taller than the average human hundreds of years ago. With theories such as these, how does it go against Christian beliefs?
It conflicts with the creation myth that Christians believe in. Anything that conflicts with that set of primitive beliefs is wrong in the eyes of those religious nuts.

You know, the little tiny firefox icon in the upper left of the window? Where do you go to change that to a different icon (which I already have, I just have to change it. I have changed the shorcut icons already).
You can’t change it normally, perhaps if you can find an addon, but in general, it’s written directly into the program and they don’t want you changing it. It’s their brand mark.

Are there any specifics? I know the bible states to let God do the judging. Basically, I need a few verses telling it’s readers to not condemn others.
"Judge not, that ye not be judged."

My cousin’s little baby girl will be baptized in the greek orthodox church next month. I am not familiar with the church and want to know what to expect at this baptism – can anyone enlighten me as to proper guest etiquette as well as info about the religious meaning behind their ceremony (how is it different from roman catholic baptism, etc.). Thanks for your input!
Here’s a summary:
http://www.kimisis.org/Orthodoxy/Baptism.html
Basically, the etiquette and theology are about the same as the catholic baptism – just the forms are a bit different.

Are catholic schools private or there are catholic schools and private catholic schools?
Private schools, also known as independent schools, are not administered by local, state or national governments; thus, they retain the right to select their students and are funded in whole or in part by charging their students tuition, rather than relying on public (state) funds.
While Catholic schools are education ministries of the Roman Catholic Church. Presently, the Church operates the world’s largest non-governmental school system. These schools aim to develop their students through participation in the sacramental life of the Church, study of religion and theology, a full curriculum in secular subjects, and a variety of extracurricular activities.
AND school uniforms are often a requirement for students in Catholic schools.

i plug in my ipod but the icon where i put the code in never shows… i tried everything i could. i even tried allowing itunes as an exception, turning off my firewall… nothing works. please help.
Your iPod should show up in iTunes. On some iPods there is a means to put the iPod into "disk mode," which means you can then use it to drag and drop data onto it like a hard disk. Use iTunes to change that setting.

Besides things such as the many miracles recorded (both OT and NT), what do you find issue with in the Bible? Can you point out specific Scripture and why?
The hate, intolerance, and killing come to mind.

If you are Orthodox, of any religious background, what is your view?
I guess I qualify, if Theravada Buddhism could be considered orthodox… I think it is just the modern mindset that traditional roles of women are subordinate and oppressive, when they really are not. Each served a vital role in the survival of the family unit and the community. In fact, anthropologists are now calling first man "gatherer hunters" instead of "hunter gatherers" because it was actually the gathering of food by women that kept people fed. The food acquired by hunting expended about the same amount of calories gained by the hunt, so the ratio was 1:1. Gathering on the other hand, took significantly less calories to do than it collected in food. From there, the role of women evolved as agriculture and industry found their ways into man’s life. These roles also adapted to religious beliefs and practices.

If medical drugs or treatments could rejuvenate you, give you more than the Bible’s "three score and ten" years of life, what would Christian views on the procedures be?
Would a healthy, active lifespan of up to, say 150 years, be a sin, putting off the time when you "meet Jesus"? An abomination? Would the doctors who performed any such procedure be considered to be "tampering with the works of God"?
Or would it be considered just an extension of medicine, like a hernia operation or blood pressure pills?
I cant believe no real answers. This stinks.

I have asked a similar question re: organ transplants…and been met with a deafening silence from the Fundies.
Which I take to mean they’d jump at it…even though it is pioneered and carried out by evil science types who believe in evolution.lol
But the few believers who responded actually had the gall to say that they saw no link between medical science and the "bad scientists"…and that God had given doctors the power to save lives…I guess he’s busy these days starting culture wars and needed to outsource the miracles!!
roflmfao!!
