I am a Catholic and I've been searching for articles, books, and online information where I can learn more about the Catholic Church's Doctrines. do you have websites to recommend to me, books, and other articles, that are reliable sources about the teachings of the Catholic Church? thanks in advance!
Farsight, I can afford one, but I just don't have time to go anywhere else besides my workplace…
Edit
"My Dear Catholics, is there an easy way to learn about the Catechism of the Catholic Church?"
The best way is to attend an RCIA class & discuss questions you have each week while reading the Catechism; you would probably attend Mass weekly & discuss the Bible readings. RCIA is the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults; early before RCIA classes are often called the inquiry stage to learn more about the Catholic faith. There are no obligaitions for inquirers.
The Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church by Joseph Ratzinger; Pope Benedict XVI is what many RCIA classes use.
"The Compendium, which I now present to the Universal Church, is a faithful and sure synthesis of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It contains, in concise form, all the essential and fundamental elements of the Church’s faith, thus constituting, as my Predecessor had wished, a kind of vademecum which allows believers and non-believers alike to behold the entire panorama of the Catholic faith." p. xii
The free online Compendium is here:

The free Catechism & Bible are on the Vatican website here:

An excellent DVD series on the Cathechism is by Fr John Corapi, SOLT. It contains about 50 episodes & he is excellent, but costs $200+. I look for this series which shows Sundays at 8 pm under the television link on: http://www.ewtn.com/
Msgr William Smith passed away last month; he is one of the best spoken priests I have heard:

*Currently the video is not working so I sent them an email.
The Knights of Columbus are an excellent group and offer 2 free online catechism courses here:

I am agnostic. Next year I am marrying a man who is Christian and comes from a very Christian family. This situation has been discussed openly with both my fiance and his family, and their attitude is one of acceptance of my viewpoint, even though I know they would like me to one day convert to Christianity. Anyway, I am completely unfamiliar with Christian music, but as a nod to my fiance's family, I would like some non-secular music to be playing during the wedding ceremony. Can anyone help me out with suggestions? The rest of the ceremony will be interspersed with secular classical music.
you could use the music from different hymns, the music is recognizable, but you wouldn't need to use the words if you are looking for a strictly musical aspect.

I'm new to cross stitching and want to use some patterns I found online, but have no idea how to actually transfer that to my canvas. Please help!
So-called stamped cross-stitch things where the pattern is stamped to the canvas can only be professionally made, but basically you can do counted cross-stitch on any canvas you like. The basic rule for that is that each symbol on the chart represents one square on the canvas.

Reading the Holy Bible daily is extremely important. However, if we join Bible study, it's human being's interpretation & sharing, which might not suit the real or actual meaning from the Bible itself. So how? Is it fine if we just read the Bible alone at home? Or should we join the Bible study every week regularly? Why? Thank you so much for your answers & explanations! May God bless you! Soli Deo Gloria!
I don't believe in the bible…. Its yucky……..

I would like to compare the total worth of the Roman Catholic Church, e.g., stocks, bonds, cash, real estate, etc., against the total worth of all the Protestant demoninations.
This is very hard to calculate.
How do you put a price on Saint Peter's Basilica?
The Vatican and each of the over 3,000 Catholic dioceses are financially run independently of each other. Each would have an annual statement.
The tens of thousands of independent and groups of Protestant churches would even be more difficult to add up.
With love in Christ.

What are the different ideas, values, and ways of life of the three main branches of modern Judaism: Orthodox, Reform, and Conservative. And what are some specific examples?
The Orthodox believe that halacha is unchanging and binding on all Jews.
The Conservative believe that interpretation of halacha has always changed with each generation, and that halacha is binding on all Jews.
The Reform believe that halacha is important and each Jew should practice what is meaningful to them.
Still confused? Try a site like http://myjewishlearning.com/xcommon/Hot_Topics/Denominations_Index.htm for help with your homework.

Lots of Catholics would love to own share in the Catholic Church. It has strong income sources and can always make profits. Think of the plunder it has gained over the past 2,000 years and how this could be increased further by proper capitalism!
So, instead of the pope, the Church would answer to stockholders? How is that any better?

It is against all Christian beleifs and the Pope condemns it. I think life in a cell is much more of a punishment anyway. We are the only Western country that still uses this barbaric practice. It even costs more to execute a person with the average tax payer paying 7 million per execution for all the appeals and lawyers. I prefer life in prison as that is a living Hell. Death is not our decision to make it is Gods. The Evangelical right wingers make a mockery of Christianity when they advocate this.
Please no Bible quotes as the book is also in favor of stoning your wife for adultery and selling your daughter to get out of debt as well as slavery…..same old thing that so called Christians used when slavery was around.
You cannot. Evangelicals are wrong about most things anyway…they vote Republican for one which to me is just plain wrong and advocate hate against homosexuals. It is more of a punishment to keep then in a cell forever than to kill them! Evangelicals are also the same people who owned slaves and said it was God's will, they are a joke, false religion and evil if you ask me.
